Parents want to provide their children with the best start in life, and hard-working Canadians should have the chance to do so. Our Government made a promise to Canadians to grow the middle class by building an equal Canada where everyone has a fair shot at success. The Canada Child Benefit is a critical piece of that plan, and the results speak for themselves. In 2016, the Government of Canada launched the Canada Child Benefit in July 2018, two years ahead of schedule. The benefit was increased to keep up with the cost of living. Starting July 20th, 2019, we’re increasing the CCB for the second time, to put more money in the pockets of hard-working middle-class families. In our riding, as of October 2018, 19,690 children have benefited from the CCB. As of April 2019, those figures have increased to 20,230 children. This means another 540 more children have been provided access to better opportunities, marking a near 3% increase in six months! Proof that our Government’s plan is working!
The Canada child benefit (CCB) is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. The CCB might include the child disability benefit as well as any related provincial programs.
